1998 Chevrolet Pickup 7.4L 1-2 shift
This truck has a harsh 1-2 shift on light throttle only.
All other shifts are fine and 1-2 shift is smooth with
medium or heavy throttle. Also noticed a 2-1 downshift
clunk once in a while. only codes are the 02 sensor codes. |

Based on the suggestions of many, we replaced the distributo assembly, and re-synced the cam, as suggested. This help tremendously, and the cam retard was -2 to +2 at all RMP ranges. The fix ended up being the BCM. This thing was seeping a little rain water down the driverside of the windshield post. I'm thinking that it must have made it's way into the BCM causing havoc. 2003 Chevrolet Express 4.3L No Start
Problem was in the ignition switch (electrical) dropping voltage to 7.4 volts while cranking.. to the computer, affecting all of the fuses on the #52 "J fuse" in the underhood panel. We thought is was in the fuse panel...but it was the ignition switch...Very ... Trouble codes: po300 (random misfire history not returned yet), po1629 (anti-theft history...not returned yet). |

We found that the ignition switch had good voltage output in the run position but not in the crank position. After in...
