car came in with check engine lite on with multiple codes
from another shop we cleared all codes then test drove car
drove fine we gave back to customer then the car returned
with check engine lite on again we scanned and only code
185 for leak diagnostic pump... Trouble codes: 185 (this is factory bmw code for leak diagnostic pump). |

1973 Porsche 914 1.7L No Start
Fuel pump has locked up due to bad fuel and 5 years worth
of sitting idle. Bosch no longer produces this pump (photo

1995 Audi A6 2.8L ignition switch
sorry it took so long. i had to order a special t30 to try to take out the airbag, but it rounded off as well. i was forced to drill out the bolt. i ended up replacing the switch and tumbler. thanks for all the great advice. |

Thanks to all . The repair was a second ECM with a OEM coil.To those who read this in the future this system must have a speed sensor signal to run. The cam sensor signal in the distibutor is not required for engine to run.

At the suggestion of Daniel (friend I work with) I removed the bolts holding the cam position sensor housing on and played with its position using vise grips to hold it in place while running it and checking it (like a distributer when setting timing).
