Well, this one is fixed. Unfortunately it was my own mistake. One of the cam bearing caps was on backwards. This made it too tight of a clearance and would not allow the cam to move far enough. 2003 Land Rover Freelander 2.5L Vibration
A set of front axels fixed the thing.I guess there is no good way to confirm this with out removing the axels from the truck. Once I got the axels out it was clear they were the problem. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

The purge flow was found to weak. After cleaning out the line and the purge valve, the flow became much stronger. Code P0440
did not reappear anymore. I also confirm the repair by checking
mode 6 TID and CID.

well it is running. it is hard to start cold but runs ok once it is running. restarts fine once warm. customer doesnt want to pursue it any further. once again thanks to all who replied. Im not sure what it was. maybe I just figured out how to start it.

Thanks to all that replied, I tested the cam and crank sensors with DSO, they looked normal and was ready to investigate Rhett's suggestion that the cam timing might be off when the customer called and advised he was taking car and trading it in on a new one. ... Trouble codes: P0302 (misfire cyl 2), P0304 (misfiore cyl 4), P0305 (misfire cyl 5). |
